2017 Competition Rule Changes

Please read the following announcement regarding changes to NTA Competition Rules voted on by the NTA Board of Directors.

The NTA Board of Directors voted to change some NTA Competition Rules as follows:

  • Division of Excellence – Any Registered NTA member may enter this division of competition however, this is the most difficult level of competition.
  • Open Division– This division is geared toward professional taxidermists and judged less critical than the Division of Excellence.
  • Novice Division –This division is open to any NTA Registered member to enter. This division is for beginning taxidermists.
  • Masters Choice Division-Judges, competition staff, or North American Champions who do not want or can’t compete in the Division of Excellence This division is voted on by the NTA Taxidermists registered at the NTA Convention and not eligible for any other NTA Awards
  • To earn an Award of Excellence the competitor will be required to compete in the Division of Excellence and have earned two blue ribbons or a Best of Category in the Division of Excellence

Any other changes to the NTA Competition Rules and Awards will be posted on the NTA website early in 2017 long before the NTA Convention in Utah.
